COMPUTERS
As we all know, computers never run
constantly to perfection, but most problems are usually only minor however. A
few weeks ago, I attempted to install a Microsoft windows 98 upgrade that unfortunately
came across a corrupt file about half way through the process. This then only
half updated my system registry files and thus I was unable to open windows at
all (accept in windows safe mode). I was unable to correct this problem so help
had to be called upon. My data was firstly backed up and put on CD, next my
computer hard drive was formatted and the new windows version was installed. I
have since found out that if the 2 files user.dat
& system.dat were backed up, then my computer
could have been restored by me. It is a good idea to keep these files regularly
updated, they can be found in the C:\WINDOWS directory.
