FURTHER (to last month’s rainfall)

·                     If you thought we had a lot of rain last month, take into account the flooding which occurred due to the extreme rainfall totals recorded in NE NSW in March of this year. The most extreme rain was recorded from NE of Dorrigo where the top daily fall was 650 mm in the Leigh area (the highest daily fall in NSW for 17 years). The centre had 840 mm in a 48 hour period, 950 mm over 3 days, & 1083 mm in just 4 days with 1195 mm being recorded in under 120 hours. WOW !!!!!

RECENT ADDITIONS TO STATISTICS LIST

1.   I have now included Monthly Median rainfall totals (as you may have noticed).

2.   I have set up Average Half-Monthly air pressure graphs for all set time data (12am, 9am, 3pm, 6pm & 9pm). Note: I still have not yet fully inserted all of the air pressure data. I also still have no plans on producing long-term averages for air pressure.

COMPUTERS

As we all know, computers never run constantly to perfection, but most problems are usually only minor however. A few weeks ago, I attempted to install a Microsoft windows 98 upgrade that unfortunately came across a corrupt file about half way through the process. This then only half updated my system registry files and thus I was unable to open windows at all (accept in windows safe mode). I was unable to correct this problem so help had to be called upon. My data was firstly backed up and put on CD, next my computer hard drive was formatted and the new windows version was installed. I have since found out that if the 2 files ‘user.dat’ & ‘system.dat’ were backed up, then my computer could have been restored by me. It is a good idea to keep these files regularly updated, they can be found in the C:\WINDOWS directory.
