| Hail Reports | ||||||||||
| Sat 24 Jan 2004 ~ I recorded hail up to 3.5cm in size with the most common size being 2cm in a moderate amount. A storm | ||||||||||
| struck us from the North at 5.00pm (1700), producing hail, rain (17.6mm in 15mins) along with gusty winds to 79.2km/h | ||||||||||
| from the East at 1711. | ||||||||||
| Other reports of hail occurred on the same day at: Western Ray Tce, Medowie & some suburbs closer to Newcastle. | ||||||||||
| See http://raymondterrace.hunterweather.com for a full report of the event by going to the "Data" link on the left hand | ||||||||||
| side. Now go to the "Extreme Weather" link on the right hand side. Note that this particular extreme weather event will | ||||||||||
| only last until our next occurs. | ||||||||||
| Things to note from now on with these reports | ||||||||||
| ~ A "*" located on the left hand side of any time simply means that the reading occurred on the day before what is stated. | ||||||||||
| This is due to my reports being mainly automatic and also data being recorded from 9am - 9am. | ||||||||||
| ~ A "**" located on the left hand side of any time simply means that the reading occurred on the day after what is stated. | ||||||||||
| This is due to my reports being mainly automatic and also data being recorded from 9am - 9am. | ||||||||||
| ~ Extreme data readings now only indicate one single reading, which is always the first one. (ie If a Min Temp of 10°C is | ||||||||||
| recorded on both the 6th & also the 19th, then the 6th is the only one that will occurr on the summary sheet. | ||||||||||
| Monthly Weather Report Alterations | ||||||||||
| ~ Number of Rain Days has been moved into the rainfall section. | ||||||||||
| ~ Number of days with Hail has been added to the miscellaneous section. The average is taken from data beginning from | ||||||||||
| Jan 1996. | ||||||||||
| ~ The report is now written in MS Excel which enables for better setting out as well as the automatic updating of virtually | ||||||||||
| all of the data as well as average comparisons. This allows me to add current monthly reports to my website & update | ||||||||||
| them as often as I get on the internet. | ||||||||||
| See http://raymondterrace.hunterweather.com for details by going to the "Data" link on the left hand side. Now go | ||||||||||
| to the "Current Monthly Report" link on the right hand side. | ||||||||||
| Recent Additions to Statistics List | ||||||||||
| ~ Added the "Monthly Weather Reports" file as well as my "Yearly Summary" file to my Min/Max data input file. This | ||||||||||
| enables them to be automatically updated each time I add data to the file. | ||||||||||
| ~ In the "Phenomina" file the number of Rain Days has been replaced by the number of days with hail. Data taken from | ||||||||||
| Jan 1996. | ||||||||||
| ~ In my "Temperatures & Rainfall" half-monthly averages file I swapped around my "Low & High Average" columns to | ||||||||||
| be on the same sheet. (ie Min/Max Air Temperatures on one sheet & Rainfall statistics on another). Also did this to my | ||||||||||
| "Humidity & Dew-Point" half-monthly averages file by putting Humidity statistics & Dew-Point Temperatures on | ||||||||||
| separate sheets. | ||||||||||
| ~ Added a "Year" sheet to both the manual "Min Max" & "09 & 15 Year" files to enable the year part of the date to be | ||||||||||
| updated when I change a single cell in MS Excel. | ||||||||||
| ~ My 9am & 3pm Set Time Data now contain more detailed cloud observations. These include Low-Medium-High | ||||||||||
| coverage (in oktas) on all levels. 6 eighths or more coverage on one level means that the next higher level does not get | ||||||||||
| a reading as the sky is too covered for an accurate observation to be taken. Also, if both the Low & Medium level | ||||||||||
| clouds combined total adds to 6 eighths or more, then the High level coverage cannot be observed for the same reason. | ||||||||||
| Website Updates | ||||||||||
| ~ Added a "Weather Calculator" page & program (Version 1.01) for FREE DOWNLOAD. | ||||||||||
| ~ Added a "Data" page & links for data for both the current period & previous period (periods are: Jan-Apr, May-Aug | ||||||||||
| & Sep-Dec). Links for "Min Max", "9am" & "3pm" data as well as for the "Current Monthly Reports" & "Full Yearly | ||||||||||
| Summary" (so far). Also added "Extreme Weather" for a summary of our latest extreme weather. | ||||||||||
| ~ Altered the links on the "Averages & Extremes" page making an "Average Air Temperature" link for Min/Max Air | ||||||||||
| Temperatures. Also added "Average Rainfall" link for Rainfall data, as well as "Average Humidity" & "Average | ||||||||||
| Dew-Point Temperatures". | ||||||||||
| ~ Updated the links page to include many more links including a "Highlights" section for some of the larger websites - | ||||||||||
| such as for the Bureau of Meteorology. | ||||||||||
| ~ Changed the names of my files to eliminate spaces within the names. | ||||||||||
