| Hail Reports | ||||||||||
| Thu 20 Jan 2005 ~ I recorded hail up to 3.4cm in size with the most common size being 1.5cm in a very light amount. A | ||||||||||
| non-threatening looking storm struck from the west at 5.35pm (1735), producing hail & rain (4.4mm in 5 mins). With | ||||||||||
| a high cloud base & only sparse thunder & lightning around, this event still has me astounded. A check of the | ||||||||||
| Newcastle radar loop shows this storm developing from nothing to a damaging hail producer in under 30mins - scary!! | ||||||||||
| Other reports from this storm include golf ball sized hail at Heatherbrae (3km to the SW). Tim Grugeon viewed the | ||||||||||
| action from the W at Tenambit (about 10km) & reported seeing a 'massive lowering'. | ||||||||||
| Monthly Weather Report Alterations (Website Current Monthly Report Mainly) | ||||||||||
| ~ All extreme and averages data comparisons are now calculated automatically. ie If a record is set, then '(A Record For | ||||||||||
| ---)' is shown, & If no record is set then '(No Record)' is shown. | ||||||||||
| NOTE: The monthly extreme average indicator can change from day to day till the final reading is taken. Also, this | ||||||||||
| indicator now fails to say if it is a record 'High' or 'Low'. This can be found simply by viewing the next line & determining | ||||||||||
| whether the average was 'Above' or 'Below' the long term average. | ||||||||||
| See http://raymondterrace.hunterweather.com for details by going to the "Data" link on the left hand side. Now go | ||||||||||
| to the "Current Monthly Report" link on the right hand side. | ||||||||||
