Hunter Extreme Heat
~ Near record breaking temperatures were observed throughout parts of the hunter on Thu 2nd. Although coastal
areas were spared the more extreme temperatures, conditions were made extreme with the higher moisture levels -
particularly in areas a short distance from the coast. On this day the Areas further inland received the higher
temperatures such as Singleton (44.5°C) & Jerrys Plains (45.5°C). This is interesting when looking back on the new years
day heat. ie Singleton broke the hunter record with 45.9°C & Jerrys Plains did not record - wonder what they would have
   measured?
