| Firstly just a quick note to say that this is my first month since Sep 2001 that I have not broken any records! | |||||||||
| Hail Reports | |||||||||
| ~ Mon 3rd - I received pea sized hail for ~3mins from ~1620. This come from rapidly moving storms toward the E. | |||||||||
| Recent Additions to Statistics List | |||||||||
| ~ I have recently thought of a way & written the file for converting the FreeWX 'grafdata.dat' file into a more legible | |||||||||
| format. This will mean I will be able to analyse events much more closely & efficiently. It also means that I will be | |||||||||
| able to add a column to my FreeWX log file for recording 10min gusts. I have analysis for 1 & 10min data as well as | |||||||||
| several graphs. This file will also be available on my 'Weather Calculator' page toward the bottom shortly. | |||||||||
| Instrument Additions | |||||||||
| ~ Rain Gauge (Hydrological services TB3 with 0.2mm buckets) - I took delivery of this little beauty during Sep & hope to | |||||||||
| have it installed within the next few weeks. I also purchased a data logger for use as a backup. With this gauge I am | |||||||||
| hoping I will be able to connect it into my AWS & have this higher quality rainfall data uploaded onto my website in | |||||||||
| place of my current sub-standard AWS rain gauge. Preliminary tests of this look very positive! | |||||||||
| Instrument Alterations (August) | |||||||||
| ~ On the 14th I adjusted my weather cam to capture images every 10mins instead of every 5. The idea for this is to | |||||||||
| increase the life of the camera. Further to this, on clear days images are only captured at 30min intervals. Uploads to my | |||||||||
| website are still every 30mins during daylight hours. | |||||||||
| On the occurance of interesting weather however I will (if home) take captures at much more regular intervals & also | |||||||||
| upload each of these to my website. An example of this occurred on the 3rd when I was capturing & uploading images | |||||||||
| at 5min intervals. | |||||||||
