Hail Reports
~ Thu 11th received brief pea sized hail ~1915. This come from a storm to our N which bought my auntie more hail than
us but of a similar size - she is located ~1km to my N.
~ Fri 12th saw a day punctuated with regular storm activity which produced brief but gusty winds & heavy precipitation.
A cell ~1330 brought small hail according to my dad.
Instrument Repairs
~ Sun 14th my AWS anemometer is re-installed after the bearing was replaced. All now working as expected.
Instrument Additions
~ Placed new Rain Gauge (TB3) outside for the first time on the 25th. Rainfall totals produced so far match my Nylex
which is great, though my only issue so far is with the vastly diferent rainfall rates I have been recording literally from
one minute to the next. This is possibly due to the gauge not being exactly level but at this stage further investigations
will need to be done - along with properly mounting the gauge & levelling correctly.
Barrington Tops Additions
~ Mon 8th I took another trip to Hunter Springs to collect data from Mrs Wright. Whilst there also fixed her old dobbie
min/max thermometer as best we could & my dad gave the Stevenson Screen another coat of paint which seems to be
holding up particularly well. With her permission I have recently created a section on my website dedicated to her
quality observations - this will be added to over the coming days & weeks.
